Amy Morris has a knack for forming a happy marriage between the classic and the contemporary. Her designs age naturally. I have yet to see one of her designs that looks dated. An Atlanta native, Amy founded her design firm with her trademark philosophy: “simplifying adds a level of elegance”. Specializing in transitional design, she’s known for sophisticated, traditional interiors with a fresh twist.
One of the most pinned earlier projects of Amy’s is the lovely home she designed for her parents that continues to stand the test of time. I believe this was completed in 2010.
This kitchen served as my inspiration for one of our fixer uppers a couple of years ago. Love the subway tile and the clock!!

This beautiful bathroom is perfection personified!!
How many of you have coveted this fabulous mirror on Pinterest?
And…speaking of Pinterest…I think Amy may have started the oversize art craze with this fabulous vignette
Like every good designer Amy’s style has evolved over the years. She still has her same signature take on tradition but with a cleaner more modern spin.
She still favors a neutral pallet …
Favoring texture over pattern….
Organic materials counterbalance the contemporary surfaces

I've never run across Amy Morris' designs before but she is right up my alley. Such stunning spaces!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portfolio! What stunning interiors!! Love the architectural iron windows as a mirror. And, Cindy, so glad to see you on Instagram :) Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is perfect with the sleek kitchen and the simple stools. The choice of bright color theme is popular for this minimalist area. White color is great for this kitchen design with small space. The ultramodern kitchen looks sleek and clean with the contemporary kitchen with the black simple stools.

Amen to everything you said! Love how much she uses raw wood in her designs, traditional but still so elegant!
