Tahoe Project Progress Photos

I have just returned from  a whirlwind few days working on the Tahoe project.  There were lots of meetings with the architect, project manager, contractor , electrician, tile setter etc. It was very productive but we still have many decisions to make.  We are currently focusing on the electrical, and any details that might affect the framing etc. Here are some progress photos of the house. As I mentioned in my earlier post this home was designed by the wonderful architectural team at  Mountain Concepts http://www.mountainconcepts.com/index.php
The center portion is the entry.  The larger space to the right is the Great Room with the Kitchen behind. To the left is the master suite hidden by the trees.


The house is going to be filled with reclaimed beams from barns from Pennsylvania and Maine.  Many of the old beams were engineered to be used structurally as well. All of the holes will be filled with hand made pegs.

There will be a built in banquette in this little niche.

This is a shot of the Lower Guest Wing and Upper Family Area.  The pop out is a window seat in the bunkroom area. There will be built in bunks on both sides with window seats on either end. 
I am sorry that I took so many strange pictures.  We were so busy in the few days I was there that I tended to focus on areas that needed to be figured out.  The good pictures are those taken by my client.  Speaking of my clients, here is a cute picture of them.  They have fabulous taste and wonderful ideas and are a dream to work with.

Just so you aren’t bored to tears with construction photos here are a few  details that we have decided upon.

There will be exposed headers above all the windows similar to those in this home also built by the fabulous Hattersley Construction team ( I am not partial you can tell).

Unlike the houses above this home will be more of of mountain meets old europe with a smattering of vintage industrial details.
Many of the living spaces will be separated by Barn doors of reclaimed barn wood

I will try and post updates every couple of weeks.  This is a really fun project for me because my client and I are completely on the same page design wise, so we are able to work as a team.
