The current issue of Architectural Digest features among others the most recent home of David Mattei and Patrick Wade. The creative pair who have collaborated at Williams-Sonoma, West Elm, Coach, J.Crew, and other high-profile retailers relocated from San Francisco to Los Angeles three years ago to focus their energies on the Premium Denim Company Lucky Brand. When I saw this living room I was completely smitten with this duos' eye for detail.
The unexpected use of the periwinkle/violet hue on the walls is quite interesting.
These two really know how to do outdoor spaces! I love the seating area under the balcony. Pick up the print issue to see more of these wonderful spaces.
Prior to purchasing their current home they owned this home on the Sunset Strip. All pictures of this homecourtesy of the Huffington Post here file:///C:/Users/cindy/Pictures/Dave%20DeMattei%20And%20Patrick%20Wade%20%20House%20Listed%20For%20$2.895%20Million.htm
The couples’ Rutherford home was also featured a few years back in House Beautiful here…http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/wade-demattei-napa-design#slide- . I think it may have since been sold.
I am not sure if the pair still owns their San Francisco Apartment , the place they have called "their real home" for 18+ years. This residence itself has undergone several transformations as seen here in House Beautiful and an article for SF gate.

I am curious what you think of the evolution of their design aesthetic over the years. Do you have a favorite home, or a favorite room? I have to say my favorite hands down is their latest digs. Although the kitchen (not shown here but in AD) in their current home is not my favorite. Check out the article and see what you think!
Love those pool areas and the kitchen, Cindy !!
ReplyDeleteWow, those rooms are all beautiful, but the periwinkle dining room (which has the same furniture/window layout as my own) really is an impetus for me to be more creative. I would never think to combine those different elements, and yet put together its so inviting and gorgeous! Thanks for the inspirations!
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting..isn't it!!??
DeleteGorgeous homes...love their style...
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I agree ~ their latest are my favorite. Love the kitchen with the pops of yellow and the blue and white dinning room. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey have Style with a capital S don't they??!!
DeleteGreat kitchen in San Francisco! That thick marble counter top is brilliant and the open shelving is making me swoon.

Each home was unique in it's own way but I am definitely in love with their latest home! I need to pick up a copy of the magazine for sure! Now I'm curious about the kitchen! Fabulous post! Thanks for stopping by the other day! Hope you are having a great day!
