20 Over Fifty Fashion Essentials for Summer

One of my favorite online resources, Artful Home, is having 15% off now through June 30th. They have such a great selection of art to wear clothes (some can be pricey) so every little bit helps. I am crazy about the Cabana Tunic but just can't bring myself to spend the $$$$. I personally purchased the Trovata striped shirt from Juxtaposition and the Kork-ease sandals from Nordstrom.  I LOVE these sandals.  My legs are a bit chunky so most of these ankle sandals are not flattering on me.  These hit at the narrowest part of the ankle and are super comfortable.  I am a huge fan.

Check out the new Canvas Line from Lands End.  Most of their clothes have always been a little granny for my taste so this new line is cut a bit slimmer and is a little more fashion forward. You can find out more about that here.

I am loving white now that my hair is gray so here are some of my favorite white shirts and tunics.  One can't have too many right? In Style picked the Lands End shirtdress as a favorite.  I plan to order one.

One can never have too much chambray, right? I orderd the Madewell Shirtdress (I will wear it as a tunic over white leggings) and I plan to order the kork-ease sandals  . I own the cut loose tee (order down they run big) and it is a favorite. I find most of the current tees are too thin for my taste.  This brand has the same look but more substantial.  I chose a couple of off the shoulder tops.  "Supposedly" we should show off the shoulder area as it is universally becoming no matter what your age.  Read about that here.

What are you adding to your summer wardrobe?  Do you have a "comfort" shoe brand that you like that is fashion forward but still comfortable? I would love to hear about it!

  7. Cindy,
Ohhh, I'm always so excited to see your fashion posts. Thankfully, the items you share with us are always right up my alley. I love the sleeveless, black shirt (although I probably should avoid sleeveless, it's sometimes too hot to care what my arms look like! haha). Also, have you done the "tucked in shirt in the front, with the back left out?" look. I always love the casual vibe it sets but wonder if at my age I'd be looking like I'm trying too hard. :-)

    Karen
