Friday Fun Stuff Thing You Don't Want to Miss

I would sell my soul for this Trampart Mirror from PB by San Francisco designer Ken Fulk if I had a place for it. It's on sale.

How about some pillows made up in this gorgeous tone on tone  fabric called Castile debuting this month from Schumacher.

My new blogging friend Debra Wolfe pens the blog A Daily Plate of Crazy here.   The Huffington Post just picked up "Getting Back in the Game over 50".  You can read it in it's entireity here.  Her posts are always thought provoking but if you are "of the age" like moi and are trying to reinvent yourself this one is bound to hit home.

Love these gorgeous monogrammed napkins from TG Hatfield and Company here

Joni from Cote de Texas had a great post this week about 2016 trends in Interior Design here.

It is a long one so grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine.  Her posts are always so well researched and thought out so it is time well spent. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I am still enjoying my design books that I received for Christmas.  This dining room from Timothy Whealon's In Pursuit of Beauty stops me in my tracks.  Isn't it just beyond fabulous?

If you follow me on Instagram, if you don't please do #cindyhattersley. I posted this photo of Talbot Vineyards (right across the valley  from my house) Woo Hoo it is finally raining in California!

What's on your mind this week? Have you made any New Year's Resolutions that you don't intend to keep? What are you grateful for this past year?  I have realized this year more than ever the power of friendship.  One person in particular has saved me many days after a long day caring for one of the elders.  She will "talk me home" as she calls it.  Thanks Mary Ann for being such a treasured friend. This picture was taken the first time we met!

  1. Thanks so much for including mention of my blog and of my latest Huff Post piece. (We women of a certain age have certain challenges, but so many advantages -- including community -- if we just know how to use them well.)

Oh, that Schumacher fabric looks yummy... And beautiful interiors that make smart use of mirrors remind me to reconsider some of my (art-laden) walls, and the option of mixing in mirrors to create a greater sense of space.

Enjoy your rain, and your weekend!

  4. Such fun tidbits Cindy! I love the monogrammed napkins and I did read Joni's post - so thorough (as you said) and definitely food for thought. Personally, I subscribe to the "find your style" design advice and try not to buy into trends too much. Just enough to freshen things up!

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi Cindy, thank you for all these wonderful bits of inspiration--I'll definitely be reading the HuffPost piece, sounds like it's written for me. :) What a lovely picture of you and MaryAnn. I know what you mean about needing those kind of "talks" that replenish us. Friends that do that for us are a true blessing.

  11. Leslie,
I love this post. I'm sorry I don't receive your email of a new post until later and I'm never sure how to correct this, but in any event your posts are always a "must read" for me.
I love the embroidered napkins and while I'm not one to follow trends, I do love to know what's considered "trending".
