Tahoe Update Martis Camp Architectural Tour

This Saturday our Tahoe Project will be one of the featured homes on the Annual Martis Camp Architectural Tour.  If you’re in Tahoe be sure and stop by.  I will not be there as I am recovering from my hip replacement.
LogoEVENT DETAILS
Saturday, July 26th
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Open house self-guided tour throughout Martis Camp
4:00 p.m. Cocktails at Lookout Lodge

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to tour the diverse residential architecture Martis Camp is so celebrated for. Enjoy inspired mountain living by exploring the creative floor plans and exquisite finishes of each home on the tour. Make your first stop Lookout Lodge to grab a map of participating homes, then pick n’ choose those that catch your eye and set off on your own self-guided tour. An informal cocktail hour at Lookout Lodge follows, where you can shake the hands of the architects, builders and interior designers who have infused their talent into these homes.

Here are some sneak peeks of what you will see.  If you follow me on Instagram you saw this picture a while back.  This is the wonderful curtain detail at the entrance.  We had a lot of fun designing this. You can find the tutorial on how we did this here

Curtains and bench cushion by Yvonne of Soft Accents.  Fun upholstery webbing pillows by Katie Baker Slipcovers.
Here is a shot Barbie took of the dining room.   I have not been up to see the nearly completed dining room yet!! Love the beautiful Noir Mirror.  Barbie and I went round and round about which mirror to select.  So glad we chose this one. The ceilings are very high but this room is actually quite small.  This mirror makes a statement without crowding the room.

Here is the banquette area in the kitchen.  Barbie selected the pillows to complement the ones we selected for the great room.

Didn’t Barbie do a great job styling the interior of this cupboard?

That’s it for the sneak peak.  Be sure to stop by if you are in the area on Saturday.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes.  I have a brand new hip and am already getting around much better than prior to the surgery.  It has been about a week and a half, I am pain free with just a little stiffness.   I am walking with a cane and hope to be ditching that very soon.  I am amazed at the quick recovery with the Anterior Hip Replacement.  I am so thrilled I had it done. If  any of you are gimping around worrying about getting it done, go for it. I go to the doctor today (hope he isn't reading this).  I am planning on being back to work next week on a limited basis!  Woo Hoo!!

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! One thing I question is how and the heck does anyone get addicted to those horrible pain killers? I took three and threw them out!! Thankfully I did not need them! Sometimes the cure is worse than the cause...

It has been such fun to watch the progress of the Tahoe project. What a fun tour this will be. The styling on this is simply beautiful. You've added all the right touches for a truly inspired lake house. I still miss my family cottage at Tahoe.

  15. Oh Cindy I've been thinking about you and wondering how your recovery was going. This is wonderful news to hear, I'm so happy your hip replacement has gone so well. I've been down with a terrible cold that I can't shake. But boy I would love to see this house. Wow. That's all I can say about these photos. I hope you share more. BTW, my youngest just drove up to Tahoe from Huntington Beach for the weekend to be with buddies, crazy huh? I guess that's youth :)

  16. Hi Leslie

So sorry to hear you are not up to par. Yes my hip is nearly normal (isn't that crazy) after two weeks...gotta love modern medicine!! It is a little sore at night when I overdo it but otherwise it is fabulous!!
