Friday Fun Stuff…Dinner at Maryann’s

I have tried to do a post for days and can't seem to get inspired. I am struggling with Windows 8 and a new computer.  There is so much going on that it is hard to hone in on anything specific to write about.  There is a lot happening in Tahoe, and I have several ongoing projects that I need to photograph. I meant to tell you about my trip  to Southern California to the Dovetail Showroom and so much else. If you want to really find out what I am up to follow me on Instagram.  I do manage to get some pictures posted there. What I do want to tell you about is my recent visit with Maryanne (of Classic Casual Home)  at her darling Russian Hill apartment .

First off ...yes Maryann is everything you all imagine her to be and more.  She entertains beautifully and effortlessly.  When I visited she had just returned from a trip to New York where she visited Annie of Most Lovely Things.  You can read about that visit here http://www.classiccasualhome.com/2014/10/modern-cottage-style-in-connecticut.html  She invited a few friends over (all who were delightful).  She served this delicious soup
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/roasted-vegetable-soup-recipe2.html, in these beautiful bowls.

Her apartment has panormic views of not only the entire bay

But the charming ...cable car route as well …

She has managed to take her classic casual beach look and turn it into classic San Francisco.

Everywhere there are lovely vignettes.

 Ready to move in?

Pictures do not come close to doing this charming apartment justice. I was in awe of Maryann's style.  I am only offering a sneak  peek because someone needs to publish it soon!!  I feel very fortunate to have enjoyed Maryann's wonderful hospitality but even more fortunate to call her my friend.

I am off to Paso for the weekend.  Next week in addition to my real job we begin work on Berries and Branches, the annual Christmas tour of homes that benefits our local hospital.  If you are local you can still by your tickets here http://www.svmhfoundation.org/page.aspx?pid=196.  I will be posting teasers on Instagram so be sure to follow along.  I have the pleasure of working with the wonderful designer Jackie Hubbard from Carmel again this year.  We will be decking out the dining room, kitchen, and family room of a lovely home in Markham Ranch.  I hope you will come out and join us!!

  13. I always love hearing when bloggers you admire are as amazing in "real life" as you'd think from their blogs. I loved all of the peeks at spots in MaryAnn's apartment that I hadn't seen before. She's got amazing style!
