The Ageless Interiors of Barbara Westbrook

Barbara Westbrook when asked to describe her style calls it " effortlessly elegant, comfortably tailored, and always classic”. “I always think of our work as being modern with a dash of the old”.

Love the unisex look of this bathroom....the slate floor....soapstone counters...

I love how the art complements the patina of the armoire here

I find this room so fresh and calm.  Wouldn’t you love to plop down on this bed?

Love the mix of the old and new here

This room is pure magic in my mind

This is her lovely office’s conference room….WOW!!

This has long been one of my all time favorite rooms....

  5. Yes, I love her style. I have several of her rooms "pinned" on my interiors board. They are among those images that I fall in love with all over again every time I look at them.

I too love the conference room with the huge lantern.

One of my very favorite images is the entry way with the dark door, stairway with the fishing baskety thingy, white walls, greenery on the dresser, warm wood floors...*sigh*

There is also an image with a round table and chair against a deep deep wall with an arched opening in it that makes me swoon.

  8. YES! Love that style! Especially as I found nearly in every image some "familiar" pieces like the Italian storage jars in the kitchen, the trestle table behind the sofa with some oil jars (nearly exactly like our 18th Scandinavian table behind our large sofa), the linen slip covers, Perigordian confit pots, wooden bowls etc....
And the bottle lamps on the trestle table: Very decorative, original and certainly unique. Just wonder about the wiring/lighting - cannot see any cables....???
Great interiors, Great post, Cindy, well done!

    Warmest greetings,
    Karin

  9. I'm amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that's both educative and engaging,
and without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm
very happy that I found this in my search for something relating to this.

  14. I have admired her work for years - ever since I saw that living room with the stone fireplace. I had not seen the first photo of that bedroom nor the third one with the black and white cushioned chair. Pinning them!
