Antique Signage as Art

What is it about Vintage Signs ?  Is it the curiosity behind the business to whom it belonged, or the fact that they fair well in both traditional and contemporary interiors?   I have several in my own home and there are always several I have  on my radar as well.  I love how they add a touch of playfulness to a room.

One of my favorite designers Karin Blake has been using them in her interiors forever

I also have a sign from Boylestown Massachusetts in my guest room.  We purchased it years ago in Maine.

  1. You always have the most interesting, unique design posts! I love this idea - especially in a kitchen or bar for some whimsy and fun...but these are beautiful examples in other rooms of the house as well!

  3. L-O-V-E them!! I once had a vintage sign from a train station: "Whistle." I regret selling it :( It had the most glorious blue-gray and white painted surface. Are your suzani bed covers old? They are wonderful.
