What do you think when you visit one of the shelter magazines and spot a huge stack of wood beautifully stacked next to the fireplace or in another area of the home? Do you love the look? Is it just me or do you envision the little critters that come with the wood invading the room? I personally love the look but can’t imagine how you keep that from happening?

I particularly love the texture and organic feel that it brings to a contemporary space.

This I understand. It is a permanent work of art. I am pretty sure they do not pull pieces out for their nightly fire…
Or as a gallery wall here

What do you think? Crazy trend or work of art?
Don’t forget to leave a comment and become a follower before August 1st in order to have a chance at winning one of Euro Linens beautiful ticking pillows! Dani says she has them in her own home and they was beautifully!
Oh I didn't think about the bugs, Cindy....yikes. You know, it is true. I do see them (the buggies). I love the look of stacked firewood.....very warm and great texture.

Cindy, I love the look in these images...but no...I can't imagine in my home. My husband would die! Have a great weekend. Mona
ReplyDeleteI love the look, but can't imagine doing this. For one, if the wood was perfectly cut and squeaky clean, I would hate burn it because that would mean I had to have more wood cleaned and perfectly cut: a pain. And I wouldn't be able to stand the dust and bugs (allergy/asthma sufferer). So.. that being said I love the look for STAGING. It has such great texture and warmth & makes a room look instantly homey.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying your blog, by the way.
Cheers!
