Ageless Style…Linda Wright

My last few months have been “ let’s just say”  a challenge.I had my hip replaced.  I managed that without a hitch.  I thought I would be back working and doing the things I love.  For the past week and a half I have been caring for my mom in Paso Robles (thanks understanding clients by the way) as she is seriously ill. I have been struggling for days with something to post about.  Trolling online distractions I came across this very stylish lady who proves style is ageless. It just so happens she is exactly my age.

As I discovered more photos  it made me think about how one defines style.  Unlike fashion which is ever changing and disposable, style is forever and personal.

“The ladies that I admire the most in the way they dress are the ladies who ARE polished and totally own their style. They were born with it….money does not buy it. I do feel that a step in the right direction is owning a few quality classic pieces”. Linda Wright

Check out the creative charm necklace.  My friend Maryann (Classic Casual Home) gave me one and so did my daughter.  I think I will combine the two as Linda did here….love this look…

“I like to think I am giving women of a certain age some ideas for dressing and remaining themselves in the face of fashion which is eternally changing”. Linda Wright

As posted before, once I let my hair go gray ,I found that suddenly some colors that I never wore worked  and that some of my favorites were no longer flattering.

“My personal experience has been that as I  become older, certain colors lose their charm and other colors look reborn. “ linda wright

Stylish women know the right time to embrace trends.  They know that confidence is their best accessory.

They spend their money on fashion staples that stand the test of time like a great trench, a fabulous pair of jeans, or a luxurious cashmere sweater.

Stylish women have a branded look that is all their own.

They usually have a signature accessory that is their go to with almost every outfit, but confidence is their best accessory.

I love this article. It's nice to read about stylish women closer to one's own age that convey that confidence that wearing clothes that are truly yours is the way to go. I love her style and the clothes! Thank you.

  7. OK...you are having a very hard year, Cindy...and you never complain. YOU ARE MY HERO. How do you put up with my lack of fashion sense? I love Linda's choice of colors and comfort--like that pale pink sweater outfit with those shoes! YOU are just as polished as Linda!

  9. Love Linda's style and again I see a lot of me in her... A nice manly crisp white shirt paired with jeans and a cashmere sweater, and I love her glasses. She is someone who Braves the fashion world with doing just exactly what she wants. And I love how she plays up her wardrobe with Jeans, soooooo Me!

How is your mom doing dear? So hard to tend to a fragile parent, aging with illnesses, mine is in the same shape of things, needing care and help on. Out of what she does. As for your hip surgery, you don't let anything stop you do you?

    Love this post.

  20. Cindy how did I miss this post? First of all I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I may not be up to date on things but I sure hope she's doing better. Boy what a summer huh? I will keep sending you my positive thoughts and prayers. And by the way I absolutely needed to read this today. Just went clothes shopping yesterday and left without buying a thing. I'm so uninspired lately. Really hate trying on clothes... am I the only one that thinks you should be able to buy a glass of wine at the dressing room entrance? I am so serious. But back to your post. What an awesome woman this Linda is, I need an injection of her attitude. Love her emphasis on classic pieces and individuality, maybe there's hope for me yet. :)
    hugs to you,
    Leslie

  24. She's SO fabulous, so inspiring, every single inch of her. I completely believe that some have STYLE and don't really need to focus on FASHION (though look around for trends that fit into your style). And YES, confidence is the best accessory.... so many times I have studied women who are not that physically attractive, by are very attractive overall and it is because of their confidence. I am so pleased you've recovered from your hip and so sorry to hear about your mother. Take care, ebh
