Trad Home Napa Valley Show House Tour–Part Three The Cheese Barn (Rough Luxe at it’s Best)

Welcome Back!  If you are as enamored as I of this particular tour you are back for the third and final installment.  I originally planned to do one post on the entire tour but just thought it deserved a more in depth look.  I have been to a lot of show houses and this was far and away my favorite!! Incidentally they are going to do the same house with a different set of designers next year.  I would love to see the tower done more in keeping with the surroundings.
That being said my  favorite part of the whole tour was the space designed by Jonathan Rachman jonathanrachman.com.  He “envisioned the barn as the new found home of an English family whose ancestors had sojourned to the Straits of Malacca on the invitation of Governor Stamford Raffles and the East Indies Company”. Go here  http://www.jonathanrachman-napashowhouse.com/ and watch his video about the space.  I admit it I am completely smitten with Jonathan’s vision for this space.   Check out his portfolio above.  Here is a man you cannot pigeonhole.  I am completely in awe of his talent.

The bedroom in the cheese barn was designed by Kari McIntosh Dawdy.  Her design was very organic and understated.  Sometimes less is more. The bed was dressed in simple luxurious linens, and handmade pillows.  We loved the wonderful throw that appeared carelessly draped over the simple headboard. I am using Trad Home’s photo as mine was poor.

The oversized artwork, simple concrete floor, and silver leaf ceiling were wonderful.

The details appear unplanned but were extremely well thought out…

This picture from the Trad Home Website gives you an overall feel for the layout of the bedroom

Laurie Furber of Elsie Green House and Home designed the Cellar Lounge, another amazing space. Again here is an overall photo from the Trad Home website so you can envision the layout.

I would love to hear which spaces were your favorites and why? Our local Christmas Holiday tour Berries and Branches is over.  I personally thought it was one of the better ones.  I would love to hear what those of you who are local think?  Thank you to our wonderful homeowner Jenell Burk who allowed us to embelish her lovely home.  We enjoyed every minute of it! I will begin posting about Berries this week!

Have a great week!!

  3. Hello Cindy,
Years ago we used to have some really wonderful tours of show houses around here, but none, or almost none, now. Usually I would take lots of pictures to enjoy later since it's hard to remember everything while you're there. So getting to see your pictures was a treat!
