Trad Home Napa Valley Show House Part Two …The Cheese Barn

The first space we came to while entering the Cheese Barn was the library designed by Thomas Bartlett. This space was definitely the most elegant interior of the barn but equally beautiful. We were greeted by this massive bouquet of sunflowers (think how many times he has to replenish this).
Here is a nice wide angle shot from the Trad Home website that gives you a better perspective of the layout

Beautiful Intaglios and another powerful vignette.

I loved the combed walls

The blue ceiling (hard to tell in this picture) echoed the color of the shutters.

This was such a happy space gorgeous in every detail

The other “more refined” space in the Cheese Barn was skillfully executed by local blogger and designer Scot Meacham Wood If you read Scott’s blog you know there is bound to be a “little” tartan involved and a lot of layering.  He is a master at that. You can check out his blog and website for many more pictures.

Here is an overall view from Scott’s website.  His hypothetical client is a retired sea captain.

Can you tell that I LOVED this Show House?  Monday I will post the third and final installment of this series.  You know how I feel about anything Rough Luxe.  The last three spaces are my personal favorites for that reason. Stop back by on Monday.  I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

  1. So many gorgeous rooms! Love the bone inlay tables in from of the sofa. Scot's room is amazing!

  2. Beautiful - thanks so much for this great tour.

  3. Cindy, thanks for sharing Scott's website. I visited and saw the before and after of the room. What a transformation!

  4. Love your post share, I have all the tools to do the comb walls, and the wood grained walls, yet have not dabbled at this for my home, yet on job sites for model homes I may be working on.
Love the shutters, and so want to so this in my home. It's such an easy fix, I have just been waiting for old cabinet doors to use rather then making new doors from new woods, but I may have to just break down and do it.

Thank you dear for such an inspiring morning for me here.

Beauty your way in all you do.

  5. Very cool! Love the lemon tree in the living area. Very clever and elegant.

  6. Cindy,
What a beautiful room. I love the lemon tree in the living area. Although it probably wouldn't survive long, it looks so great. It was fun to see Scot's contribution to the house. I've loved all of the images you've shared. Thank you.

  7. Thank you Cindy, for sharing your time at my place, as for your sharing your comment in my artwork of crowns, even if never a purchase your compliment encourages my art and that's as good as a purchase.
I love the beauty you share, I am always inspired to step it up a bit in my finds when visiting you.

See you soon dear. Looking forward to all you create for the holidays.

  8. Cindy, I love this house—that wall paper is just divine! I can't wait for the next post!
