Textile Library, Suzanne Tucker, Ralph Lauren & Jane Shelton

I am working with some clients who have a lovely home with wonderful furnishings that just need a little updating.  We worked on the kitchen and then one thing led to another. Both the husband and wife have a wonderful sense of style. They are absolutely wonderful people. I have just loved working with them. Their home is to be featured on the local Berries and Branches tour this fall .  If you would like to buy tickets you can do so here http://www.svmhfoundation.org/page.aspx?pid=275.
This is our textile palette for the living and dining area.  My client (shrewdly) has classic upholstered pieces that are in a neutral palette except for one wing chair. Hence the room can be updated easily with some simple fabric updates .image
Our focus fabric is this wonderful floral  called Botanique from Suzanne Tucker Home  http://www.suzannetuckerhome.com/textile/3006/07.  Both my client and I fell in love with this fabric at first sight.

Jane Shelton’s Safari will go on an existing ottoman to provide a fresh update http://janeshelton.com/search2.php

Ralph Lauren Trouville Ticking in Denim will go on the cushion of an existing  wicker chair https://search.e-designtrade.com/Ralph-Lauren-Home/LFY65661F.RL-400/CoverInformation.aspx

Ralph Lauren La Ruche Canvas in Linen will go on a wing chair https://search.e-designtrade.com/Ralph-Lauren-Home/LCF65925FRL-400/CoverInformation.aspx.  This is a burlap looking fabric.  We will add nail heads to dress it up a bit and add a pillow of the Suzanne Tucker fabric.

This Ralph Lauren Fabric Antibes Batik https://search.e-designtrade.com/Ralph-Lauren-Home/LCF65506F.RL-400/CoverInformation.aspx is on a chair in the Kravet Showroom and everytime I go in the showroom it stops me in my tracks. It will add the pop that the room needs and will be used on pillows.

This fabric from Nomad Chic will also be used on pillows for the sofa https://www.e-designtrade.com/dspimg.asp.  We love the textural interest this piece adds.

As you know Suzanne Tucker is a local designer and principal of the renowned firm of Tucker and Marks.  You can see more of her work here http://www.tuckerandmarks.com/. I am really enamored of her textile line and her overall design aesthetic. You can find her fabrics  here http://www.suzannetuckerhome.com/content/textiles. Her wonderful new book http://www.amazon.com/Suzanne-Tucker-Interiors/dp/1580933610/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1374508390&sr=1-1&keywords=suzanne+tucker will be available on October 10th.

I am loving Ralph Lauren’s new lineup of fabrics as well.  What do you think of the fabrics we have chosen?  I would love to hear your opinion!

  2. One of my very favorite color combinations~ blue and yellow! The print and pattern matching with florals, stripes, and organic patterning balanced with a solid is so inviting. Your choices are fabulous...creating a refined global aura with the batik-like patterns, the heavy, banded woven reminiscent of nomadic tribal bags & carpeting, and the Jane Shelton Safari fabric...and which all work so well with the more classic ticking stripe. Love the variety of textures and contrasts of delicate and robust!! Scrumptious. Wish I were fabricating the pillows for what will definitely be an exciting, successful project.

    2. Yes, the same one! It happened really quickly too. All I can say is beware!!

    3. This makes me wonder if there are Acrylic fibers in the content, as it is famous for pilling. Also, some fibers may pill if they are not spun tightly. (Do some of us remember that dreadful "Haitian Cotton" of the late 60's and 70's?) I am drawn to the look of this fabric, as well, but I always advise staying clear of certain Acrylic fabrics and loosely spun or un-spun yarns.

  9. Very nice, Cindy. Not too pretty, a little handsome, so it strikes a nice balance. It's so smart to keep our big pieces neutral so you can update the look without a big investment.

  10. What do I think? :) Love it, Cindy!! Such a warm and beautiful palette. Is the Ralph Lauren Antibes Batik more of an indigo blue in person? I really like that fabric.
