The Power of Black and White

Styles evolve but does the appeal of black and white remain current? Is it a simple decorating scheme or does it  pack a powerful punch?  What do you think?

  2. Those are beautiful black and white rooms. Not severe, but easy on the eyes....perhaps because of the wood, sisal and brown furniture.

    1. I agree completely Loi the texture lends warmth.

  3. I love all of these images. For me black and white works when it is combined with warm brown textures - natural fiber rugs, rough hewn woods or beams, etc. to warm it up...then I just love it!

  4. I think you've found a perfect balance as the schemes are not essentially all black and white but more a contrast of white and darks...they all work beautifully with injections of warmer woods and accessories.
    Have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thanks Fiona! Sometimes I don't realize why I am drawn to particular images until you all so graciously point it out.
